Sino-Europe Urbanization Cooperation Demonstration Area is made up of Foshan Sino-Europe Industrial Services Zone, Foshan Central Urban Area, and Modern Lingnan (south of the Five Ridges) Culture New City. It has five major functions including transportation hub, informational media, business service, sports and leisure, and commerce and finance. It aims to become a place where innovative talents gather together, where human and nature can coexist harmoniously and where economic development and environmental protection are compatible. It is a “smart new city ” which is inhabitable and has features of southern China riverside town. It aims to become a provincial-class or national-class smart city model. The demonstration area actively conducts cooperation with European countries. Taking “intensive, smart, green, low-carbon” as its development philosophy, it aims to become a industrial city, a smart city, a inhabitable city, and a green city.
“Industrial City”
The demonstration area attaches great importance to quality-oriented development pattern. It focuses on developing modern service industry. Different from other industrial parks that attract direct investment, the demonstration area mainly attract high-tech European enterprises (especially SMEs) with bright market prospect and proprietary intellectual property right. Hopefully, it can become an international technology transfer and transaction platform by doing so. Besides, it serves as an active intermediary to cooperate and share interest with neighboring regions.
“Inhabitable City”
The demonstration area remains committed to creating an effective government environment. It brings in notary organizations, arbitration agencies, and intellectual property right protection institutions to create a legalized and internationalized business environment. Following the construction standards of European “100-year-old City”, it has built central cultural area which includes nine venues and 1 center, central sports and leisure area with well-equipped facilities, and CBD with multiple functions.
